BOXABL Inc. (NASDAQ: BXBL), known for its foldable housing units, is exploring entry into the data center market with a conceptual Server Pod design intended to house artificial intelligence and cloud-computing infrastructure. The company has outlined potential configurations ranging from compact 10-foot and 20-foot units to 40-foot enclosures and a proposed 2,500-square-foot “Server Tron.” The initiative leverages BOXABL’s factory-built construction approach, where structures are prepared in controlled production environments before being transported to customer sites.
The move comes as real estate services firm JLL projects approximately 100 gigawatts of new global data center capacity could come online between 2026 and 2030, requiring an estimated $3 trillion in investment. BOXABL believes its manufacturing model could help address construction costs and deployment timelines for data centers, which are under pressure to expand rapidly to meet AI and cloud computing demand.
“The data center market is facing significant capacity constraints, and factory-based manufacturing offers a potential path to faster, more cost-effective deployment,” the company said in its announcement. BOXABL’s existing product line includes the Casita, a 361-square-foot studio unit that unfolds on-site in under an hour, and the smaller Baby Box. The company is also developing stackable and connectable modules for townhomes and multifamily units.
The Server Pod concept is still in the conceptual stage, and BOXABL has not announced specific customers or timelines for the product. However, the initiative signals the company’s interest in diversifying beyond residential housing into the growing digital infrastructure sector. BOXABL raised more than $230 million from over 50,000 investors since its founding in 2017 and began trading on the Nasdaq under the ticker BXBL on July 20, 2026, following a business combination with FG Merger II Corp.
