Hong Kong Logistics Conference to Align with National Five-Year Plan, Strengthen Trade and Maritime Hub Status

The 16th Asian Logistics, Maritime and Aviation Conference (ALMAC), organised by the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region Government and the Hong Kong Trade Development Council (HKTDC), will be held on 16 and 17 November at the Hong Kong Convention and Exhibition Centre. Under the theme “Driving Inclusive Growth through Innovation and Sustainability,” the event will gather government and business leaders from logistics, shipping, aviation, supply chain management and related sectors to discuss supply chain resilience, green energy and digital transformation.

The conference topics are aligned with the National 15th Five-Year Plan, the HKSAR Government’s first “Five-Year Plan for Hong Kong” and the latest Policy Address, aiming to enhance Hong Kong’s competitiveness and support sustained economic development while reinforcing its position as an international trade and maritime centre and an aviation hub.

Jacky Chung, Associate Executive Director of the HKTDC, said the conference will bring together around 80 distinguished speakers and is expected to attract more than 2,300 participants from over 40 countries and regions. He noted that the national and local plans support Hong Kong’s “four centres and one hub” positioning. Amid geopolitical tensions, extreme weather and the transition to sustainable development, the HKTDC will continue to align with government policies to promote high-value-added supply chain services and green energy development, seize Belt and Road opportunities and support Mainland enterprises going global.

Chung added that Hong Kong’s port is upgrading from a “traditional major port” to a “value-added port,” accelerating digital, green and smart development, and strengthening cooperation with Greater Bay Area ports to become a key maritime hub connecting South China with South America. This direction aligns with ALMAC’s aim to help the industry move beyond “moving goods faster” towards “moving goods more reliably, more sustainably and with greater value.”

The event will feature a distinguished lineup of speakers. John Lee, Chief Executive of the HKSAR, will deliver a special address on the second day, while Professor Frederick Ma, Chairman of the HKTDC, will deliver opening remarks. Jennifer Nordquist, Deputy Director-General of the World Trade Organization, will discuss supply chain resilience and how governments and businesses can strengthen collaboration to reduce uncertainties in global trade.

ALMAC will explore three key areas: supply chain development, Silk Road Maritime and green energy. Speakers from the Asian Development Bank, the United Nations Economic and Social Commission for Asia and the Pacific, the World Trade Organization, JD Logistics and SF Supply Chain will share strategies to build a more resilient, sustainable and inclusive global trading system. A new thematic seminar on Silk Road Maritime will highlight the platform’s role in enhancing connectivity and supply chain stability, with insights from the International Chamber of Shipping.

On green energy, leaders from UPS, DHL Express, The Hong Kong and China Gas Company and Rystad Energy will examine the latest developments and trends, underscoring the transition to green energy as a fundamental pillar of sustainable development.

The conference will also feature the LSCM Shipping Summit, the “Hong Kong’s NextGen Logistician Awards 2026” Presentation Ceremony and workshops on arbitration, artificial intelligence, green energy and youth empowerment. The exhibition will host close to 100 exhibitors, including a new Green Energy Zone, with participants such as the Airport Authority Hong Kong, Hong Kong Air Cargo Terminals and JD.com, as well as mainland organisations from Jiangsu, Qianhai, Nansha and Xi’an.

Last year, ALMAC organised more than 400 business-matching sessions, underscoring Hong Kong’s role as a “superconnector” and “super value-adder.” Business Matching sessions will continue this year.
