The 18th Hong Kong International Wine & Spirits Fair, organised by the Hong Kong Trade Development Council (HKTDC), will take place from 5 to 7 November at the Hong Kong Convention and Exhibition Centre, bringing together more than 620 exhibitors from over 25 countries and regions.
The fair, a one-stop sourcing platform for global buyers, showcases wines, spirits, sake, beer, low- and no-alcohol beverages and related products from over 40 places of origin. Its expanded World of Spirits zone reflects growing demand for premium spirits, particularly after the recent reduction in liquor duty in Hong Kong. The zone features spirit exhibitors from 16 countries and regions, including first-time participants Mexico, Portugal, Slovakia and the United Kingdom, and covers the world’s eight major spirit categories: baijiu, whisky, vodka, rum, tequila, brandy, gin and soju.
A key focus this year is the convergence of the “Top 10 Chinese Baijiu Brands,” including Kweichow Moutai and Yanghe, which are using the fair as a platform to develop overseas markets. A new interactive installation will debut to showcase baijiu’s traditional craftsmanship and cultural heritage, alongside a seminar titled “Chinese Baijiu Go Global” where experts will discuss opportunities and challenges in overseas expansion.
Smilely Lam, Associate Executive Director of the HKTDC, said Hong Kong’s free-port status, world-class logistics and unique position connecting the Chinese Mainland with global markets make it a strategic base for wine and spirits businesses looking to expand across Asia. She added that the fair highlights Hong Kong’s role as a “super connector” and “super value-adder” between the mainland and the rest of the world.
The fair also features emerging wine regions, with first-time pavilions from Georgia and Italy’s Calabria region, as well as exhibitors from Chinese wine-producing regions such as Xinjiang, Ningxia and Xizang. Local Hong Kong brands will showcase creative products, including gins inspired by local culinary traditions, while low- and no-alcohol beverages gain momentum.
More than 40 events will be held throughout the fair, including masterclasses led by Masters of Wine and the return of “Sommeliers’ Picks.” A stronger emphasis on cocktail culture includes a sharing session with actress Bernice Liu and representatives from Asia’s leading bars, including Hong Kong’s Bar Leone, named No. 1 on the World’s 50 Best Bars list in 2025 and 2026.
The final day, 7 November, will open the public zone Saturday Fiesta to visitors aged 18 or above, with tickets at HK$220 and a promotional price of HK$128 available until 6pm on 6 November through designated platforms. Pre-registration for public-day activities is available through the fair website: https://www.hktdc.com/event/hkwinefair/en.
The HKTDC, which celebrates its 60th anniversary this year, promotes Hong Kong as a two-way global investment and business hub through international exhibitions, conferences and business missions. It also provides market insights via research reports and digital news channels. The original release is available on www.newmediawire.com.
