A new book titled Survival: Democracy’s Struggle To Survive is being promoted as essential reading before the U.S. midterm elections on Tuesday, November 3, 2026. Written by a team of bestselling authors and experts who have covered Donald Trump’s decade in politics, the book examines Russia’s threats and influence on U.S. elections. The author list includes Craig Unger, Charlie Sykes, Elizabeth Graham, David Andelman, Steve Beschloss, Dr. Bandy Lee, Dr. Sanford Mayer, George Polisner, and Mersault.
The ebook version of Survival will be available at no charge on Amazon on November 1 and 2, along with E. Graham’s book From Democracy to Democrazy, at https://www.amazon.com/stores/Elizabeth-Graham/author/B0CMY189NT. The free offering is timed to encourage voters to read the book before casting ballots.
The release argues that Russian hybrid warfare and disinformation have drastically increased during Trump’s second term. It cites a September 18 classified briefing convened by French President Emmanuel Macron at the Elysee Palace, where he warned that the Kremlin’s tactics had expanded beyond disinformation and cyber espionage to sabotaging drone operations and potentially deadly attacks on critical infrastructure. The book also references an October 27 Substack post by Julie Roginsky titled “WWIII’s New Front: Putin’s War Could Go Nuclear – in Space,” which described a Russian military satellite apparently stalking an American spacecraft in low Earth orbit.
The authors present a case for what they call Trump’s betrayal, pointing to his relationship with Russian President Vladimir Putin. They note that The Washington Post Fact Checker cataloged 30,573 false or misleading claims during Trump’s first term, and claim his second term is worse. The release also states that Trump has been convicted of fraud, 34 felony counts, and sexual assault, and that he has been mentioned 1,500 times in the Epstein Files, with a congressional report in progress on alleged ties to Epstein’s crimes.
Further, the book highlights a project called Polar Train LNG, an alleged $25 billion liquefied natural gas export facility on Alaska’s North Slope. According to Michael Sellers’ Substack, former ExxonMobil engineer Joel Riddle resigned as CEO in September after discovering that the supposedly American venture was being financed and managed by Russia. The release asserts that every foreign intervention by the Trump administration has involved Russia or a Russian ally—Venezuela, Iran, North Korea, China, Syria, Libya—costing U.S. taxpayers billions while benefiting Russia.
Craig Unger, author of American Kompromat, is a co-author of Survival. The book is positioned as an indispensable road map to the challenges facing democracy and is intended to inform voters ahead of the midterms. With the free ebook available just days before the election, the authors hope to reach a wide audience concerned about Russian interference and the future of Western democratic civilization.
