Laurion Mineral Exploration Expands Phase 1 Drilling at Ishkōday Project Following High-Grade Gold Assays

LAURION Mineral Exploration Inc. (TSX-V: LME | OTC: LMEFF | FSE: 5YD) has reported assay results from six drill holes completed as part of its 2026 Phase 1 diamond drilling program at its 100%-owned Ishkōday Gold and Polymetallic Project in Northwestern Ontario. The results, announced via NEWMEDIAWIRE, include high-grade gold intersections that the company says are helping to refine its geological understanding of the A-Zone.

Drill hole LBX26-117 returned 1.80 metres grading 17.10 grams per tonne (g/t) gold, including 0.80 metres at 31.50 g/t gold, as well as a broader 10.05-metre interval of gold-bearing polymetallic mineralization deeper in the hole. LBX26-121, drilled from the same collar at a shallower angle, intersected 5.20 metres grading 1.067 g/t gold with 1.11% zinc, while LBX26-116 returned 2.80 metres grading 2.261 g/t gold. LBX26-115 also returned 4.35 metres grading 0.820 g/t gold, 9.65 g/t silver and 0.66% zinc.

The significance of these results lies in their role in a broader technical program. LAURION has increased its planned Phase 1 drilling from 3,865 metres to 5,605 metres across 22 drill holes. The expanded program is being informed by SRK Consulting’s independent structural gap analysis of the A-Zone, which identified five priority target areas where additional drilling may address key gaps in the existing drill database and further strengthen the geological understanding of the A-Zone. The company is using this framework, together with ongoing drill results, to prioritize near-term drilling as it continues to systematically advance its exploration, with the objective of validating its geological interpretation and supporting the evaluation of a potential maiden Mineral Resource Estimate (MRE).

“This drilling is designed to address the specific gaps identified by SRK Consulting, improve our understanding of the continuity and geometry of mineralization between drill holes, and build a reliable technical foundation at the A-Zone,” said Cynthia Le Sueur-Aquin, President and CEO. “We will continue to let the data guide our next steps.”

The six holes discussed in the release total 1,227 metres, though the company notes that this figure is not the total 2026 program metreage. Interpretation diagrams for individual holes, such as LBX26-113 – Interpretation and LBX26-117, were provided to illustrate the geological context. LBX26-113 was designed as a twin of historical hole 92-65, but returned lower grades than the historical results, prompting the company to evaluate the implications for its historical drill database.

All core lengths are drilled thicknesses; true widths have not yet been determined. The technical contents of the release were reviewed and approved by Dr. Trevor Boyd, Ph.D., P.Geo., a Qualified Person as defined by National Instrument 43-101.
