AEVIS VICTORIA SA announced that its subsidiary Swiss Medical Network SA has signed an amendment to extend its CHF 150 million syndicated credit facility with a consortium of nine Swiss banks, led by UBS Switzerland AG as arranger and agent. The maturity date, originally set for 25 April 2027, has been pushed to 25 April 2028, with an option for a further one-year extension. All other terms and conditions remain unchanged. The announcement was first reported by NEWMEDIAWIRE.
The early extension by the entire banking syndicate carries significant weight for AEVIS, the SIX-listed healthcare, hospitality and infrastructure group. It demonstrates that lenders are comfortable with Swiss Medical Network’s operating performance and debt profile at a time when many healthcare providers face pressure from rising costs and tighter financing conditions. For AEVIS, which holds a 76.3% stake in Swiss Medical Network, the move reduces refinancing risk well ahead of the original 2027 deadline and provides a longer runway for strategic investments.
Swiss Medical Network has also benefited since 30 September 2026 from a 100-basis-point reduction in the applicable margin on the facility, which is linked to its net debt/EBITDA ratio. The improvement follows stronger profitability and a reduction in net debt, according to the company. A lower margin directly cuts interest costs on the CHF 150 million facility, freeing up cash for operations and capital projects. Michel Keusch, CFO of AEVIS, said: “The early extension of this facility by the entire banking syndicate confirms the banks’ confidence in Swiss Medical Network’s operational and financial trajectory.”
The extension matters beyond the balance sheet. Swiss Medical Network is one of Switzerland’s two leading private clinic and hospital groups, operating 19 clinics and hospitals, 80 outpatient centres and 22 eye clinics across 16 cantons. It is also a pioneer in integrated care through its VIVA healthcare plan and regional care networks. Financial stability at the group level supports the continuity and expansion of these services, which are increasingly important as Swiss healthcare delivery faces capacity and cost challenges. The facility extension also reflects well on AEVIS’s broader portfolio, which includes luxury hotels, healthcare-related real estate and the NESCENS brand. A stable financing base at its largest holding gives the group flexibility to manage its other investments. The original release is available at www.newmediawire.com.
