Intershop Communications AG, a global provider of agentic B2B commerce solutions, today announced its Spring 2026 Release, focusing on practical AI to simplify adoption for merchants and buyers. The release introduces new capabilities for the Copilot for Buyers and general availability of the Copilot for Merchants, alongside a unified pricing model for all AI features.
According to Markus Dranert, CEO of Intershop, the cost-benefit analysis for adopting AI has been challenging for many B2B merchants. “With the Spring 2026 Release, we’re showcasing how AI makes a real impact across the buyer and merchant journeys,” he said. The pre-integrated copilots and agents aim to provide an easy entry point into agentic commerce, helping companies integrate AI into their operations in a practical and scalable way.
The Copilot for Buyers now supports a wider range of aftersales scenarios by leveraging contextual data such as installed base information, technical product specifications, and customer history. It can send service reminders, link with manufacturer systems for maintenance alerts, and identify dirty or damaged spare parts using a new high-accuracy Visual Product Finder. Additionally, the platform introduces Agentic Commerce Protocol (ACP) product feeds, allowing merchants to make their catalogs searchable in LLM-based environments like ChatGPT. The Product Content Agent automatically provides generative engine optimizations (GEO) in product descriptions, enhancing searchability.
The Copilot for Merchants, previously in beta, is now generally available with a critical mass of agents and proactive workflows. New capabilities include an agent task overview for scheduling and monitoring tasks, with summaries and next-step recommendations. The newest addition, the Competitive Intelligence Agent, helps teams track market developments and competitor activity, summarizing insights for data-driven decision-making. Over time, users will be able to manage core platform functions through natural-language prompts, reducing the need to navigate complex back-office environments.
To further support AI adoption, Intershop introduced a unified pricing model for its AI capabilities. Customers can choose from credit-based subscriptions that provide flexible access across all copilots and agents, rather than licensing individual components. “The bottom line matters for merchants, who are under economic pressure to do more with less,” said Nils Breitmann, Senior Director of Artificial Intelligence at Intershop. “The new packages lower the barrier for merchants to test AI, prove its value, and stay flexible as they grow.”
