BOXABL Unveils Modular Server Pod Concept Targeting Data Center Growth

BOXABL Inc. (NASDAQ: BXBL), known for its foldable homes, has revealed a new concept that could expand its factory-built approach into the data center sector. The company announced its Server Pod concept, a design study for modular, factory-assembled enclosures intended to house AI and cloud computing infrastructure. However, BOXABL stressed that the Server Pod is only a concept at this stage and is not currently in production. The initiative aims to showcase the company’s manufacturing capabilities and invite data center developers, operators, and equipment vendors to explore custom design and manufacturing partnerships.

According to the company, the concept includes a range of configurations, from a 10-foot Server Pod designed for a 0.5 petaflop tier to a larger 2,500-square-foot Server Tron envisioned to deliver 16 petaflops of operations per second. Actual configurations, engineering details, cooling approaches, and equipment specifications would be determined in collaboration with customers. This flexibility is intended to attract a variety of partners, from hyperscalers to colocation providers.

BOXABL believes that its factory-built, repeatable structures could help address some of the most pressing challenges facing the data center industry: speed, cost, and labor. The company cited JLL’s 2026 Global Data Center Market Outlook, which projects the sector to grow at a 14% compound annual growth rate through 2030. That growth is expected to bring approximately 100 gigawatts of new capacity online between 2026 and 2030, potentially requiring up to $3 trillion in total investment. Such massive expansion underscores the need for faster, more efficient construction methods.

By leveraging its experience in factory-built housing, BOXABL aims to offer a solution that can accelerate data center deployment while reducing on-site labor and costs. The company is actively seeking engagement with data center developers, hyperscalers, colocation providers, equipment manufacturers, and other potential partners. However, BOXABL noted that there is no assurance any agreement will be reached or that any Server Pod or similar product will be built.

This move comes as BOXABL seeks to diversify beyond residential construction. Founded in 2017, the company has raised over $230 million from more than 50,000 investors. Its flagship product, the Casita, is a 361-square-foot studio unit that unfolds on-site in under an hour, and it also offers the smaller Baby Box. The company is developing stackable and connectable modules for larger homes. BOXABL began trading on the Nasdaq Stock Market under the ticker symbol “BXBL” on July 20, 2026, following a business combination with FG Merger II Corp.

The Server Pod concept aligns with BOXABL’s mission to apply factory-built efficiency to other sectors. If successful, the company could carve out a niche in the rapidly growing data center market.
