Western Star Resources Inc. (CSE: WSR) (OTC: WSRIF) (FRA: 4K2) announced on September 11, 2026, the appointment of Garland Scott to its board of directors, effective immediately. The company also disclosed a new investor awareness agreement aimed at raising its profile in the investment community.
Scott brings 26 years of experience in financial services, business development, and strategic consulting. He previously held senior roles at Bank of America and Goldman Sachs, where he worked with financial advisors and high-net-worth clients and delivered institutional investment solutions. He later served as Business Development and Consultant Director at SEM Wealth Management and as Chief Growth Officer of On3 Strategies. Scott holds the Certified Investment Management Analyst® (CIMA®) designation and earned degrees in Psychology and Political Science from the University of North Carolina at Charlotte.
“We are thrilled to welcome Mr. Scott to the Board. His background at leading firms such as Goldman Sachs will be instrumental in helping Western Star take that next step forward,” said CEO Blake Morgan. Morgan also noted that the company will have updates regarding assays on the Rowland, White Star, and Eagle Point properties very soon.
The board addition comes as Western Star seeks to revitalize North America’s tungsten supply. The company is an emerging junior mineral exploration company focused on advancing past-producing tungsten assets in historically important U.S. mining districts. It aims to participate in the growing need for secure domestic critical mineral supply.
In a separate announcement, Western Star said it entered into an Investor Awareness Agreement with Market Equities Limited (MEL) dated September 11, 2026. Under the agreement, MEL will provide branding services, communications, advisory, and general consulting services. These include SEO, digital media campaigns for branding, media consulting, general business development, multimedia services, and project management. MEL will also write and distribute weekly ticker tag articles highlighting the company in sector-based analysis, as well as news-based tags when the company has a new event. The fee is $100,000 USD for a two-month term upon acceptance by the Canadian Securities Exchange. The agreement may be renewed by the company and MEL at the end of the initial term.
Western Star stated that MEL and the company are not related parties and operate at arm’s length. Neither MEL nor its principals have any interest in the company’s securities, directly or indirectly, or any right or intent to acquire such an interest.
The appointment of a financial industry veteran and the launch of a paid awareness campaign signal Western Star’s intent to strengthen both its governance and its market visibility as it advances its tungsten exploration portfolio. With assay results pending on three properties, the company is positioning itself to attract investor attention in a sector increasingly focused on domestic critical mineral supply.
