Knight Stalker Records, the flagship music division of REACH FOR THE TOP MEDIA GROUP, has announced several developments that underscore the expanding reach of what it calls the Mainstream-Independent Movement. The Akron-based label has added two artists to its roster, shone a spotlight on an underground Ohio band, and begun booking efforts for a 2027 tour.
Zilkwulf, of Cleveland, Ohio, joins Knight Stalker Records. The label cited the group’s talent, vision, and dedication as making them a natural fit for the movement. Chris Stark also joins the roster, with the label pointing to his passion for music and commitment to independent artistry as key strengths. These signings reflect the label’s strategy of attracting artists who operate outside traditional industry structures.
The label also highlighted Black Sasquatch, an underground force from South-Eastern Ohio, as part of its commitment to supporting the state’s independent music community. Formed in 2018 when longtime friends Bub Hiestand, Ted Wilson, and Patrick Pryor reunited after a 15-year break, the band turned an abandoned trailer into a DIY studio. Their debut EP, The Triangle, launched INC Records and established their raw, self-built identity.
Through the pandemic, Black Sasquatch continued performing across Ohio and released the ambitious Believe EP in 2022. In 2023, guitarist Theodore Charles Hall joined and helped shape the award-winning, Doom-flavored Sighting EP, released in 2025. The lineup locked in fully with second guitarist Greg “Gregzilla” Combs in 2026, followed by their high-energy full-length Live ’25. The band describes its blend of rock, punk, and metal as “Squatch-Rock,” a sound rooted in grit, loyalty, and Ohio’s independent spirit. Looking ahead, Knight Stalker Records has officially begun booking efforts for the upcoming Culture Shock (US) 2027 Tour. Additional announcements and tour dates will be released as plans move forward. The label’s mission remains unchanged: to create opportunities, build lasting partnerships, and support artists who refuse to be defined by industry limitations.
“This isn’t an industry to us. It’s a movement. Industries chase trends. Movements create change. We’re here to do the latter, and we’re not going anywhere,” the label stated in the announcement.
The expansion matters because it demonstrates a growing infrastructure for independent artists in Ohio and beyond. By adding acts like Zilkwulf and Chris Stark, while elevating the profile of Black Sasquatch, Knight Stalker Records is building a community that prioritizes authenticity, collaboration, and long-term growth over fleeting trends. The planned 2027 tour further signals that this movement intends to reach wider audiences, offering an alternative path for musicians who might otherwise struggle within conventional industry models.
REACH FOR THE TOP MEDIA GROUP describes itself as an independent media and entertainment organization dedicated to supporting artists, creators, and community-driven initiatives. Through music, media, promotion, and strategic partnerships, it aims to help independent voices reach wider audiences. Its guiding belief is that success should be accessible to those willing to pursue it. As the Mainstream-Independent Movement continues to grow, the label’s latest moves suggest it is positioning itself as a lasting force in the independent music landscape.
